Is there any way to change "Size on disk" that is reported by samba to a Windows-client. When checking (from Windows) the site of a textfile it might say something like this: Location: \\server\share\test.txt Size: 4 bytes Size on disk: 16,0 MB (16?777?216 bytes) This is of course not correct. Size on disk should be the same as the block-size on the underlaying filesystem, right? //Anders

Size on disk should be the same as the block-size on the underlaying filesystem, right? At home I use the latest Samba 2.0.x release, which shows real-looking values for "Size on disk". At work we use Samba 2.2.2, and it shows insanely high "Size on disk"-values. At home I use a Linux 2.4.13 kernel, at work a Linux 2.2.19 kernel. On our 2.2.2 with Kernel 2.4.5, I get reasonable values, so I would imagine that it is a kernel revision issue.
