Hi there, I am new to the list and wanted to say what I did in the headline ("hi"). Of course, I also have a problem w/ Samba 2.2.2 (Linux) as a PDC. I think I configured Samba as a PDC for the domain "AIRLINE". Here is the important part of my smb.conf: [global] netbios name = AIRBUS workgroup = AIRLINE ; i am the domain and local master browser os level = 32 preferred master = yes domain master = yes local master = yes security = user encrypt passwords = yes domain logons = yes logon path = \\%N\profiles\%u logon drive = X: logon home = \\homeserver\%u logon script = logon.cmd interfaces = 10.1.2.109/255.255.255.0 wins support = yes wins proxy = yes When I now try to add a W2k (SP2) or W98 machine to my new domain AIRLINE I get the error: No domain controller for domain "AIRLINE" found. When I look at a tcpdump I see the request and the answer: 10:32:45.374814 10.1.2.130.netbios-ns > airbus.ber.mytoys.de.netbios-ns:>>> NBT UDP PACKET(137): QUERY; REQUEST; UNICASTTrnID=0x8296 OpCode=0 NmFlags=0x10 Rcode=0 QueryCount=1 AnswerCount=0 AuthorityCount=0 AddressRecCount=0 QuestionRecords: Name=AIRLINE NameType=0x1C (Unknown) QuestionType=0x20 QuestionClass=0x1 10:32:45.374814 airbus.ber.mytoys.de.netbios-ns > 10.1.2.130.netbios-ns:>>> NBT UDP PACKET(137): QUERY; NEGATIVE; RESPONSE; UNICASTTrnID=0x8296 OpCode=0 NmFlags=0x58 Rcode=3 QueryCount=0 AnswerCount=1 AuthorityCount=0 AddressRecCount=0 ResourceRecords: Name=AIRLINE NameType=0x1C (Unknown) ResType=0x20 ResClass=0x1 TTL=0 ResourceLength=0 ResourceData Does anyone have any idea what is happening here? Thank you in advance, Knut
