i have/had a share setup that was working fine for a number of months. The share involved the use of a preexec and a postexec script.. in the past week it has failed and the only thing that keeps the share from working is the enable/disable of the preexec command.. without the preexec command in the smb.conf the share gets mounted, not the way that i want, but mounted none the less. (postexec is also commented out) with the preexec included the share fails. the script can be as simple as an cd command and the mount will fail. saying the share does not exist. the log file reveals nothing to substantial to my eye. the basic trouble shooting exercises reveal nothing either. the preexec script works from the command line on the server box. the preexec script even seems to have been executed by the attempt to connect. but the connection fails. i did not change anything with the system within the past week. i am at the moment clueless.. any ideas?? thanks. kevint
