Hello all, This seems so trivial and I am embarrassed by asking. I followed all the directions in the Samba-How-To guide concerning printing. I set up the print$ share and all the subdirectories under as explained. When I try to connect to the printer from another machine I get - The server on which the printer resides does not have a suitable NULL printer driver installed. Click on OK if you wish to install the driver on your local machine. After choosing o.k. it installs to my local machine just fine. What I want to do is install the driver to the server so that when someone else connects it automatically gives it to them (NT 4.0). Can someone tell me why I cant do this? What stupid thing am I over looking. Thanks in advance. Steve Moccio svm@lucent.com

Yes, I am running 2.2 as a new install on a new Linux system running mandrake 7.2. I have been comparing 2.2 and 2.0.6. On the server running 2.0.6 when connecting to it - In the initial window I get all the printers plus a couple of folders - one being the printers folder. If I go into that folder the printers show up again with a hand. On the server running 2.2 again the initial window shows the printers and the printers folder is empty. Any thoughts? -----Original Message----- From: Gerald Carter [mailto:gcarter@valinux.com] Sent: Thursday, April 05, 2001 11:40 AM To: Steve Moccio Cc: samba@us5.samba.org Subject: Re: HELP!!!!! Steve: been this route not long ago... If everything is set up as per the How-to what you are probably missing is that you must be root [or an NT user mapped to root if you have an NT domain] in order to add drivers to the server. hope this helps... paul sanders>>> Steve Moccio 04/05 11:29 AM >>>Hello all, This seems so trivial and I am embarrassed by asking.
