Dear Samba Users
I am going thru a very odd behavior accessing a share. This is the scenario
under samba 2.0.7:
[sophia_medio]
        comment = Sophia Financeiro - Medio
        path = /home/receber/sophiafin/medio
        admin users = @users, @receber, @funcs
        write list = @users, @receber, @funcs
If one's map (under W98) a drive letter to this share and execute the
program
it takes about 17minutes to acomplish the task.
But if I change this share to
path = /home/receber/sophiafin
map a drive letter to this new share and descend to the "medio"
subdirectory
and execute *the same task* it takes only 3 minutes!
The task in question is a database (DBF) index validation.
And *YES*. I repeated the task with the first link and it took the same 17
minutes discarding the fact it could be a disk cache effect on second run.
Any clues?
Amazing regards
