I have a Epson Stylus 740 Color Printer. Everything prints fine from Linux. When I print from windows, everything is also fine except I get a "%!" at the top left-hand edge of the page. I have cups 1.4, and have tried unsuccessfully to upgrade to cups 1.6 on numerous occasions ( removes numerous lib files that cups, samba and an other apps need. Does anyone know how to upgrade successfully or fix this problem. Would lpr be a better option? I am using client side (Win98) drivers for CUPS on the client machines. Thanks, Craig

I'm a linux neophyte so I thought it was just me. But I see in the mailing list that others are having trouble with this as well. Why isn't there a FAQ on why 'cups.h' is not found? I've looked through the docs and there doesn't appear to be an install.doc with a set of Pre-install steps. ERX -------------- next part -------------- HTML attachment scrubbed and removed
Can anyone advise how to get Cups to survive a reboot with samba. After Reboot both samba and cups are running but there are no samba preinters unless I restart Samba. I have set links to rc3.d so that cups starts before samba but still doesnt work. Any help would be greatly appreceiated Regards Simon ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP on Redhat 8.0 and Qmail with Ldap.

Your boot order is the problem. In the rc3.d directory your will find a script called Sxxname for each service. The xx for cupsd needs to be earlier than the one for smb (or samba). - John T. -- John H Terpstra Email: jht@samba.org
