samba - Oct 2000 - File transfer in smbclinet in ASCII mode

Dear Sir,

    File transfer in smbclient is always in binary mode.  I would like to know,
if there is any method to transfer files in smbclient in ASCII mode.  Kindly
help me in this regard.

So why do you actually want to transfer in binary mode?  There's
no reason to.
