Hi. I'm trying to get samba to work on a BSD box. When I do a smbclient -L localhost (to test the config) I get the following response: doing parameter security = share doing parameter valid chars = 0206:0217 0204:0216 0224:0231 0345:0305 0344:0304 doing parameter wins support = yes doing parameter encrypt passwords = no doing parameter hosts allow = 172.0. 127. pm_process() returned Yes added interface ip=172.0.0.2 bcast=172.0.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Client started (version 2.0.7). resolve_lmhosts: Attempting lmhosts lookup for name localhost<0x20> Connecting to 127.0.0.1 at port 139 session request to LOCALHOST failed (Not listening for calling name) resolve_lmhosts: Attempting lmhosts lookup for name localhost<0x20> Connecting to 127.0.0.1 at port 139 session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Not listening for calling name) I've started samba and netbios name server. I don't understand why it isn't it listening for localhost. Anyone have any theories? If you need additional info, tell me what you need and I'll post it. /Jocke --------[interesting part of smb.conf]--------- [global] server string = Fenriz workgroup = fenriz guest account = smbuser os level = 33 debug level = 3 security = share valid chars = 0206:0217 0204:0216 0224:0231 0345:0305 0344:0304 wins support = yes encrypt passwords = no hosts allow = 172.0. 127.
