samba - May 2000 - Plaintext password

Hi,

I notice that Samba requires plaintext password in
Windows configuration in order to connected to Samba. 
Is there any major security issue in Windows if
someone put a network analyzer to monitor the network
packet?  If you have ways that prevent Windows from
enabling plaintext and function with Samba, I would
like to obtain that information.  Thanks for your
help!

Read ENCRYPTION.txt in your docs/textdocs/ directory.
