Hello, I have a Windows 98SE box trying to connect to a Linux RedHat 6.0 box running Samba 2.0.5a-1. Browsing is very slow. Seems to take at least a minute to get between directories, which I think suggests a timeout. Sometimes it just locks up I tried making sure dns, lmhosts, config options, password.reg, etc were all right. But the problem just seems to get works. Windows to Windows works and Linux to Windows works. Here are the key parts of the smb.conf hosts allow = 192.168.1. load printers = yes log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m max log size = 50 security = share socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 interfaces = 192.168.1.2/24 name resolve order = host lmhosts bcast
