Ok... Using 2.0.6... I enabled my own script to change passwords. I have: passwd chat = *New*Password* %n\n *SUCCESS* passwd chat debug = True unix password sync = True passwd program = /usr/local/samba/private/mypasswd %u Although the above works, for nonspaced passwords, it truncates %n if there is a space in it. Looking at the debug: [2000/02/01 16:40:27, 100] smbd/chgpasswd.c:expect(229) expect: expected [*New*Password*] received [Enter New Password: ] [2000/02/01 16:40:27, 100] smbd/chgpasswd.c:expect(205) expect: sending [test] [2000/02/01 16:40:29, 100] smbd/chgpasswd.c:expect(229) expect: expected [123 ] received [] The password that I used in this case was "test 123" Any ideas on how to pass passwords that could contain spaces in them ?
