Each samba server in our network is providing shares on two workgroups. How can we establish that it announce itself directly in those two groups, without showing up in the other groups of the network. We defined one WINS server, which is the domain master. We could define 'local masters' but they would show up only in one of the two groups. We have tried the 'remote announce' but this did not help. All help is appreciated. Regards, Wim Pool

I don't think the registry hack for win98 is common knowledge as yet. So, I let samba support encrupted passwords (which means you need to use smbpassword). There is tons of documentation on that with the distribution. Its quite straightforward and it took me an hour to get the setup going. Sarma
