For compiling on Solaris with gnu gcc you need to have set the PATH
environment variable to /usr/local/bin AND to /usr/local/lib !
Otherwise gcc can't find it's library.
PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/lib
export PATH
