I can't seem to see new host aliases. This use to work in 1.9.17p11 (I think). I am now at 1.9.17.alpha5. When I add a new host alias I don't see it from my PC but can from my Unix server. What is stranger is that I see aliases that were made a long time ago but not the new ones. Environment: SERVER: 1.9.17alpha5 on Solaris 2.5.1 with NIS+ CLIENT: Win95 on a PC Example: FROM UNIX SIDE: terre{root}85: ping terre terre is alive terre{root}86: ping smbhost terre is alive FROM PC SIDE in a DOS Window: C:\WINDOWS>ping terre Pinging terre.IRCM.UMontreal.CA [132.204.106.33] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 132.204.106.33: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 132.204.106.33: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 132.204.106.33: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 132.204.106.33: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=255 C:\WINDOWS>ping smbhost Bad IP address smbhost. C:\WINDOWS> There is also this note in the WHATSNEW.txt: Some of the changes since alpha4 are: *** Alias names for Samba servers. Can anyone help me out ?
