rsync - Dec 2005 - configure error

Hi,

I am trying to install rsync on Solaris. While doing ./configure from the
downloaded, I got the following error message.

configure: Configuring rsync 2.6.6
checking build system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.8
checking host system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.8
checking target system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.8
checking for gcc... /usr/ucb/cc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler
cannot create executables

Could anyone please give me some help?

Perhaps you don''t have a C compiler installed on your system?
