I have a rsync server running on Solaris 7 and trying to rsync to a Solaris 9 machine. rsync is running from inetd in the Solaris 7 and it is in the /usr/local/bin. rsync --version shows the following: # /usr/local/bin/rsync --version rsync version 2.5.6 protocol version 26 Copyright (C) 1996-2002 by Andrew Tridgell and others <http://rsync.samba.org/> Capabilities: 64-bit files, socketpairs, hard links, symlinks, batchfiles, no IPv6, 64-bit system inums, 64-bit internal inums rsync comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions. See the GNU General Public Licence for details. I am getting the following error: rsync: server sent "rsync version 2.5.6 protocol version 26" rather than greeting rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1043) Can anybody help?
