Depends what it is. :-)
If the user who runs Wine has not write permission to the partition
where it is trying to save a file, of course this will make it
difficult.
How to work with native windose partitions is pretty well covered in
a section "Dealing With FAT/VFAT Partitions" near the end of
<wine>/documentation/installing.sgml, or you can find a pointer at
http://www/winehq.com to doco in other formats. I just use this ugly
little kluge to render sgml almost readable:

sed -e 's/<[^<>]*>//g' -e 's/</</g' -e
