Package: logtail Version: 1.2.32 Severity: important Bug#252078 was reported against the binary package logtail but "fixed" in logcheck. Logtail (and not logcheck) should have a versioned dependency on perl. The only remaining purpose of this bug report is to request a non-Perl version of logtail. Given how any non-trivial Debian box has perl installed, is it worth keeping this open?
