[asterisk-users] /var/lib/asterisk/sounds does not exist
Hi All; I download asterisk, compiled it and install it, but not finding the sounds file (/var/lib/asterisk/sounds), what could be the reason and how I can have it without repeating every thing? My asterisk version is: Asterisk 1.4.25 Regards Bilal

Just do your make menuselect and make install commands again, making sure you select sounds in the selection process. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of bilal ghayyad Sent: Wednesday, July 01, 2009 6:04 PM To: asterisk-users at lists.digium.com Subject: [asterisk-users] /var/lib/asterisk/sounds does not exist Hi All; I download asterisk, compiled it and install it, but not finding the sounds file (/var/lib/asterisk/sounds), what could be the reason and how I can have it without repeating every thing? If you built from source, go into your Asterisk source directory and type make menuselect. I always select/download all the sounds in every codec as well as the additional. Sometimes, I even grab the different languages too. You could just browse digium's site for the sounds files. http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/sounds/ Download and extract... -- Thanks, Steve Totaro +18887771888 (Toll Free) +12409381212 (Cell) +12024369784 (Skype)
