Hi! I have an automated dialout via a call file to a mobile. Can I detect when the call is not answered but forwarded to the mobile operator voicebox? I would like to stop the dialout if this is the case. TIA, Mike

If this key is not pressed within a certain timeout, then terminate. This is okay to detect answering machines etc. I believe asterisk 1.4. has some better controls over this. In 1.2, some other techniques are discussed at: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+BackgroundDetect Rob -- Robert Lister - London Internet Exchange - http://www.linx.net/ robl@linx.net - tel: +44 (0)20 7645 3510 - RL786-RIPE
If forwarding happens after a number of rings, you could simply cut off the call before the required number of rings happen. Otherwise, I' don't think there is a simple way to detect being answered by the voicemail versus the intended recipient. l. I think Asterisk gets the required (redirect) information over signalling. When I look at the CLI I get ... -- IAX2 is making progress passing it to SIP -- IAX2 is ringing --> mobile is ringing ... --> after the mobile redirects the call I get again ... -- IAX2 is making progress passing it to SIP --> after the voicebox answers I get ... -- IAX2 stopped sounds -- IAX2 answered SIP So I think it must be possible to get the status between the first "ringing" and the second "making progress". Any ideas? TIA, Mike
I am looking to allow some users to login to a website and change where their ext is forwarded to. any ideas? It can be very simple or I can install a full package and then allow certain users certain access. Thanks in advance Jason
