[asterisk-users] Busy signal from IAXy when not connecting to my Asterisk box
I'm having a problem with my IAXy not always connecting to my Asterisk box. When I pick-up the phone plugged in to the IAXy I get a busy signal. I have to hang-up the phone and wait a few seconds after the orange LED goes out and then try again. When this happens I don't see any connection attempts in the Asterisk -r output. When I do get the IAXy to connect to Asterisk I get a dial-tone and see the connection established in the Asterisk -r output. The IAXy and my Asterisk box are on the same network segment and are plugged in to the same hub. Does anyone have any ideas? Everything works just fine once I get the IAXy and my Asterisk box to connect. Frank

And when someone calls me the iaxy- connected phone does not ring, Asterisk signals congestion. Sometimes I need to power down the iaxy to make it work again. I'm also using a Nokia E60 that connects to the same Asterisk server, and it's a bit sad to say that the E60, warts and all, is a lot more reliable in terms of staying connected to Asterisk. jens -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (Darwin) iD8DBQFFa3ZoRAx5nvEhZLIRAhidAJ9Y40wcKyAW9IgFLmKCfv2sg2bi9wCeMoPa /euF4OoA1hpwkhIiswz0Cn4=CXRO -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

[asterisk-users] Busy signal from IAXy when not connecting to my Asterisk box
Is yours S100i or S101i? I've seen the same issues with the S100i and then noticed that SIP isnt as bad as Digium makes it seem (probably to market IAX) and want to say the issue is caused by heat. I do believe the S101i is the same exact hardware, uses the same firmware but is just designed not to heat up as much. Honestly for the price why not get a Linksys Router/ATA combo? The IAXy has NO web interface, and is very lacking in features. If you dont connect the ethernet and phone to it before you power it on, it wont even work right. I'd buy them in bulk if they were priced USD 35-45, but not at 100.
