Hi all, Did anyone had success with Q.Sig on * 1.2, especially with Alcatel 4400 (which seems to only support Q.Sig) ? I am thinking about interconnecting 15 sites together with asterisk (probably using IAX or SIP). I have a very heterogeneous environement using both PRI and BRI, but my pilot will start with the Alcatel at the central site. Any help/example is most welcome. BR, - Patrick -

It's just we don't support some of the more cooler supplementary features (most of the reason people like to use Q.SIG) though. Matthew Fredrickson
I'm currently using Asterisk in front of an Alcatel 4400 PBX: PRI PSTN with DID --- Asterisk --- cross E1 cable --- Alcatel PBX I have problems only with Advices Of Charge (AOC) from my telco, that are not recognized and passed to Alcatel, breaking my billing application. I'm planning to put another Asterisk server with same setup at another site and connect them by a IAX trunk. I will be very happy to exchange some experience. Do you see any issue here ? Thanks for the quick reply. - Patrick -

It is actually very good to hear that most of it works. The difference in my project is that we'll keep the PSTN link on the Alcatel, and use the asterisk only as a inter-site trunking solution. The reason is that I have no Alcatel knowledge (will rely on other people), and I want to be as un-intrusive as possible. If you don't mind, I would have some additional questions: 1) Can you confirm that Q.Sig is the only option for me ? 2) What hardware are you using on the Asterisk (Digium ?) Once my pilot starts I may come back to you for some examples and advice, but this probably won't happen before a month or so. Thanks a lot, and best regards. - Patrick -
Hi Mimmus, I have just ordered a Sangoma A101, that I should receive pretty soon. As you may remember, I will try to connect it to an Alcatel 4400, using either EuroISDN or Q.Sig. In order to save me some time and effort, would you mind sending me some sample configuration, like the wanpipe and zaptel configs ? Again, my first goal is to have basic call setup running in both directions. My final goal is to interconnect heterogeneous legacy systems using a VoIP cloud (based on Asterisk and IAX2). Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.
