[Asterisk-Users] Credit card machines, Asterisk and Digium any issues?
Hi, We want to be able to use any of 4 outgoing lines (POTS connected to FXO cards on a Digium TDM400P card) for a credit card machine (you know those little machines that have a phone line attached and are in many small establishments) We have 4 FXS for analog phones and 2 credit card machines. Are there any issues that I might encounter doing this? I assume it is just like a analog fax machine searching for an available line to go out on. Also if any one has done this and can shared their configuration I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I'll bump this thread and add a link to a similar one. http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2005-October/130359.html I'm trying to do the same thing, but am learning all I can before getting an actual cc machine to test. I know very little about them. Be kind to this noob. I have a crude demo set up where a human operator takes the customer's input from a recording and then hand-keys info into cc machine without actually talking to customer, that won't be practical for larger volume. Do your cc machines have a line-in to connect to the FXS? Is this the setup you want?: FXO<--->TDM/System<--->2FXS<--->2CC Machines<--->Merchant Account Anyone else doing/trying this? --- Chuck Bunn <chuck.bunn@networkdoc.com> wrote:> Hi, > > We want to be able to use any of 4 outgoing lines > (POTS connected to FXO > cards on a Digium TDM400P card) for a credit card > machine (you know > those little machines that have a phone line > attached and are in many > small establishments) We have 4 FXS for analog > phones and 2 credit card > machines.
