There is nothing more than figures, right? I am looking for: 1. How many phone lines are currently in this world (I estimate 800 billion analog lines) 2. How many data lines are currently in this world (I estimate 1 billion) 3. what is the forcast of 1 & 2 ? When will it swap? 4. How many PBX are in use? I guess that a part will be extended with FXO to the Interent. Some will be replaced at all, because of missing features. 5. Which countries favour VoIP? Which countries forbid VoIP? Where are the cheapest / best ADSL lines available? Hongkong, Korea, Japan is my guess bye Ronald
> 1. How many phone lines are currently in this world (I estimate 800 > billion analog lines)Good Guess for service lines, you would need a messurement of length for all lines.> 2. How many data lines are currently in this world (I estimate 1 billion)Same as above, I would go a lot higher on my guess. (ADA, Security systems)> 3. what is the forcast of 1 & 2 ? When will it swap? When will they become the same medium?> 4. How many PBX are in use? I guess that a part will be extended with > FXO to the Interent. Some will be replaced at all, because of missing > features. This is an interesting question that could be answered by reading finacial statements for most PBX makers in the past 20 years and drawing the graph.> 5. Which countries favour VoIP? Which countries forbid VoIP?Emerging countries mainly, and any that would be rebuilding. It is not which countries forbid VOIP but which ones allow monopolies.> > Where are the cheapest / best ADSL lines available? > Hongkong, Korea, Japan is my guessHow do you price free.... SDSL or XDSL is what I want and that would be the best.> > > bye > > Ronald > > _______________________________________________ > Asterisk-Users mailing list > Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users > To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users >-- --- Andrew Latham - AKA: LATHAMA (lay-th-ham-eh) lathama@lathama.com - lathama@yahoo.com - lathama@gmail.com If any of the above are down we have bigger problems than my email! ---

According to the CIA world factbook there are 800 million landlines in use and about 6.4 billion people. This makes more sense than 800 billion. there are probably at least an equal number of cellular telephones in use as well, but i have no idea how one would go about getting those numbers (except maybe taking large countries and starting to add). http://www.odci.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html -yair On 8/10/05, Ronald_Wiplinger <ronald_wiplinger@leadtek.com.tw> wrote:> Dean Collins wrote: > > >Ronald, > >Why?
