Point 1. I get the digest version of the mailing list. I find it
most useful to get directly any reply to my questions in addition
to the response send to the list.
This item is on BUZILLA and I applied the recommended work-around
provided there but I am still seeing this message:
/etc/init.d/microcode_ctl: microcode device /dev/cpu/microcode
doesn''t exist?
What is this process? Do I need it on a single CPU box? If as I
infer from the BUGZILLA report /dev/cpu/microcode is a (evidently
missing) symlink then where should it point to? What are the risks
caused by its absence?
