[Asterisk-Users] Who knows where voicepulse has their asterisk servers?
I want to collocate an * box somewhere, where better than where voicepulse chose to put their servers? They probably did their homework and selected someplace where good handoff to the pstn can be found, right/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I assume they could have the media gateways really far from the Asterisk servers, would this make any difference in your plans ? Anyone checked the source/destination for traffic going via voicepulse ? For several destination DNs ?

If you are getting pri's you want your interface hardware to be physically close to them. If you are getting all your traffic over IP, you want to be close network-wise(fewest hops) to the carrier/provider. In the latter case it would be ideal to have a LAN connection between your servers and the SIP gateways so you would want to coloc in the same data center. Anybody wanting to sell wholesale to you should wnat you to have the right information because it helps you to do more volume with them.

[Asterisk-Users] RE: Who knows where voicepulse has their asterisk servers?
I could have phrased the question better. If voicepulse, packet8, or vonage hops onto a tdm network (pstn) in one place more than any other (because they got a great rate on did and termination from a providers tdm network, so it's just easier for them to terminate a majority of their minutes in one carrier hotel than maintain their own gateways and contracts in many latas... where would that carrier hotel be, and who would be the clec handing them tdm access and did's there? A loaded question, but the answer's got to be useful for many of us here, right?
If you look at the prices and plans page you will see that open access is $9.99/month. Last bill I have from them shows it at $4.99/month. My billing date is 2 days away. Anybody here that had it at $4.99 gotten a new bill with a new price?
