asterisk users - Jan 2005 - About HDLC in ISDN

Hello,
 
Does anyone know if zaptel with libpri(Euro-ISDN  implementation for PRI) of
asterisk server use HDLC under LAPD(Q921)?

I read somewhere that it works but you must recompile the kernel...
