asterisk users - Oct 2004 - connecting asterisk to existing pbx extension line

All,

 

            In our shared office space we have a PBX extension - I would
like to know if that can be connected into * using an FXO port?  I know that
often PBX lines are not the same as PSTN lines and you cannot connect for
example a fax or modem to them and have it work because they use digital
signaling.  Do the Digium FXO cards support this?

That depends on what type of line it is.  It could be fxs, fxo, E&M or 
digital.  Until you know what type of line it is, there is no way to 
know how to hook it to *.
