asterisk users - Oct 2003 - PERL scripts: How to trigger?

Hi there,

a quick question: 

Am I supposed to install a cron job for the "old voicemail delete" 
script, or does Asterisk run this by itself? And do I need to trigger the 
scripts for extension.conf and sip.conf myself?
