I'm wondering if I can do the following: Caller activates the Directory application Caller enters the first 3 digits of a person's last name ==== Normally here, Asterisk will say the extension number of a person found. Is there a way to get Asterisk to say the name as well? (perhaps using the same sound file that is used for their name in the voicemail application) Can this be done?
We have it done at Digium so it can be done. Just record your name I guess with voicemail but I'm not entirely sure about that you can record that in voicemail. When in voicemail they need to go into the "record name" section and record their name. Then it will play their name. -----Original Message----- From: Derek Beaumont [mailto:dbeaumont@telantek.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2003 3:33 PM To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Directory Application question I'm wondering if I can do the following: Caller activates the Directory application Caller enters the first 3 digits of a person's last name ==== Normally here, Asterisk will say the extension number of a person found. I have recorded my name for my voicemail, but my name is not played in the Directory application. I am using Voicemail2 (if that matters). Could this be a context issue? Do I need to change any of the configuration files? -Derek
