CentOS - Nov 2005 - Problem updating with yum

Hi.

I executed the command yum update in a centos 3.5 (originally a whitebox
enterprise) and I got the results:

Corriendo??un??test??de??la??transacci??n:
Errores??reportados??haciendo??la??prueba
installing package glibc-common-2.3.2-95.37 needs 29MB on the / filesystem
installing package nptl-devel-2.3.2-95.37 needs 29MB on the / filesystem

Sorry but part of the messages is in spanish.

You're too low on drive space in /.

I executed the next command in /var
[root at prototipo var]# du -h cache/yum
337M    cache/yum/base/packages

6.1M    cache/yum/updates-released
4.0K    cache/yum/addons/packages

4.0K    cache/yum/extras/packages
164K    cache/yum/extras/headers
172K    cache/yum/extras
553M    cache/yum/update/packages
25M     cache/yum/update/headers
578M    cache/yum/update
4.0K    cache/yum/updates/headers
8.0K    cache/yum/updates
946M    cache/yum

How could I clean the cache used by yum for the updates?
