[Mapstraction] Geocoding module added to Mapstraction v2
Hi! I have been working with this git repository: http://github.com/idelab/mxn I have seen that there are not any commit since December, and I think that it is not the correct way to add new code to the Mapstraction project. If the correct way is the svn repository ( http://code.google.com/p/mapstraction/source/checkout). How can I commit my code to this repository?? A developer can implement features, put them up and they can be tested and merged if ok into the official repository in SVN In addition, more awareness of the project via other sites isn''t bad - and encourages people to experiment with the code and put up changes that we can more easily see and test. I can put more information in the Github version that states clearly that it''s just a mirror of the Google Code project. What can be done in this case is one of a few things: - Pablo can generate a patch against the SVN version and submit that - I can merge in Pablo''s changes into Github and then push those to the SVN - Just give developers like Pablo write access to submit changes to the SVN What are others thoughts? [Mapstraction] Geocoding module added to Mapstraction v2
I have been working in Mapstraction for 10 months and I have commit other module to the Git (Interactivity module). I pulled it some months ago and I have no response about it. I''m working with Mapstraction and have developed a Drupal module about Mapstraction (http://www.drupal.org/project/mapstraction_cck). Now, I have refactored the geocoded module to v2 Architecture. I think that the process is not clear and it is necessary a definite workflow. Thanks!! 2010/3/22 Ed Freyfogle <edf at sloan.mit.edu>> 2010/3/22 Andrew Turner <ajturner at gmail.com>: > > Ed Freyfogle wrote: > > > > 2010/3/22 Pablo L?pez Escob?s <plopesc at gmail.com>: > > > > > > Hi! > > > > > > > > We need to have one source of truth, otherwise we get out of sync. > > I personally have no preference about which it is beyond that I''m used to > > using > > http://code.google.com/p/mapstraction/ > > > > submitting requires write access, which I have but unfortunately I > > can''t give you > > > > only the project owners: robert.moran, dezfowler, ajturner can. > > > > Guys can you give Pablo write access. I have a Google code project too, and while I''m not managing the contributions of others yet, I''ve considered it. I think you can allow contributors to commit to only specific branches, so you could have a community branch that you review before reintegrating it to trunk. There also appears to be a code review mechanism for reviewing a revision, but I haven''t used it yet. It might be a process for deciding to keep or reject a revision. [Mapstraction] Geocoding module added to Mapstraction v2
I have read today new mails about how to collaborate with Mapstraction. I have planned work with mapstraction about some improvements. I think that this process should be more organized. It would be a good idea to design a roadmap and don?t waste or duplicate efforts. We should define the different ways to help in order to avoid misunderstandings. Any ideas? Thanks!!
