Good morning, I think SYSLINUX is the bootloader for several Linux disb CDs. Please forgive me if I am wrong, as it difficult to discover that information. http://syslinux.zytor.com/faq.php#whatisnot After reading that text, is that just modesty, or these Distributions should be using something else? :) I have been testing the new debian installer: http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ After installation you need to remove the CD media, and then put it back in to finish your installation. This for at least me, presents an inconvenience and a usability problem. I would like to able to start an installation, and not have to run back to it halfway through to fiddle around with fragile CD media. I have had the experience of installing Windows XP, and I remember when the CD was in the tray it would present a message like: Press a key to boot CD ... And then it would timeout after ten seconds to the next boot medium as defined in the BIOS. This is exactly what I want, as I don't want to re-install my machine if I accidentally leave a boot CD in the tray ! I can see in the documentation, there is a timeout parameter, but I think this is for the particular kernel option. What are your thoughts about this? Kind regards, -Kai Hendry
