[syslinux] booting pxelinux and subsequent tftp-reads
hello, I used to start a network installation from redhat or suse over PXE using the pxelinux component from the syslinux package. At the beginning of installation I want to read some files (e.g. the kickstart-file) over tftp from the pxe server. The problem is that from the point of view of the installation loader I don't know the ip-address and the tftp path prefix of the pxe server. Is there a way to get the IP address and tftp path prefix from the pxelinux bootloader? Are there any modified pxelinux's or are there any plans for future syslinux versions which replace special keywords from the append string with the IP-Address and/or path prefix ? Are there other solutions for that problem ? Kind regards Reiner Beninga -- Reiner Beninga, FSC EP LP SM 5 mailto:reiner.beninga at fujitsu-siemens.com
