OK, so I lied... I have release SYSLINUX 1.75-pre8. The only difference between this and -pre7 is that -pre8 adds a "keeppxe" option to PXELINUX -- if the "keeppxe" option is given on the kernel command line, PXELINUX will not unload the PXE stack, but instead put it to the ground state. This way one can use MEMDISK to boot an operating system which can use UNDI as a network driver. I believe there are DOS UNDI network drivers floating around, in particular... see for example http://www.rembo.com/rembo/resources.html.
