dtrace discuss - Sep 2009 - Java 1.4 garbage collection tracing without dvmpi.

Hi,

Is it possible infer with other providers than dvmpi that garbage
collection is a performance issue in a jvm?

The dvmpi provider is not available on my system and I doubt that I will
have the permission to install it and 
 have the application restart with the -Xrundvmpi option.

Is there someone that can answer my question.
