crossbow discuss - Jul 2011 - About crossbow and OpenFlow/OpenvSwitch

Hi:

Could someone from the Crossbow team enlighten us on how crossbow compares
to or is related to openFlow and OpenvSwitch ?

I know that crossbow uses the hardware NIC to make things happen, and my
understanding is that both openFlow and openVSwitch are entirely software
based.

I have just chanced upon the OpenFlow protocol, and am about to go read more
about it.

Sorry for the delayed response.

Crossbow doesn''t provide support for openflow. Crossbow
provides virtual switching within a host, however open
vswitch, I believe, supports more, including open flow.
