[crossbow-discuss] Project Proposal: GLDv3 NIC Driver for Multi Function CNA
Emulex is proposing to contribute to the Networking Community, a GLDv3 driver to support its OCe10xxx line of multi-function FCoE, iSCSI and NIC PCI-Express CNAs. The purpose of this project is to provide a Solaris Driver, to avail of TCP/IP Networking, and associated applications. Equivalent support is being provided to other major Operating Systems. The oce driver is a GLDv3 based driver and will provide support for core GLDv3 functions. Additional features, such as Power management (suspend, resume), Dynamic Reconfiguration and Fast Reboot will also be supported. Separate packaging for oce will be provided, including installable binaries, and man page listings. Exercising the NIC functionality of a CNA is a critical piece in using it as a general purpose Network capable device. We request the Core Contributors to agree with positive votes to this proposal. Please note that three +1 votes, and no -1 votes is a requirement to be accepted, as per Article VIII of the OpenSolaris Constitution.
