dovecot - Nov 2005 - Choose client

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to make dovecot to only accept
connections from specific clients such as Thunderbird on Squirrelmail an
deny access to Outlook (as it creates folders) etc..

Probably not. The trouble is the IMAP (or POP, AFAIK) protocol doesn't
really give the client a chance to identify itself in the way that, say,
HTTP does. The only thing you could do is try to identify a client by
some sort of "signature" usage of IMAP commands which would be
unreliable, and a lot of work, besides!

you can always let (one) outlook create the dirs, chmod 000 it, and finally 
put it in skel, to replicate structure in new account.
