CentOS - Sep 2006 - Problem in detecting LAN card and soundcard in compaq presario v2000

Dear All,
 I have installed the centOS 4.3 in my laptop. OS is not detected the
   ethernet card as well as sound card.
   Pls help me for activating the lan card drivers.

well, can you post an output of 'lspci -v' and 'lspci -n' ? that
will
help find what hardware you have, and why it might not work.

Also, there are quite a few updates to drivers on 4.4, have you tried 
installing that ?
