Once the package is installed, if automatically generated documentation(.Rd files) were included in the git repository, users can easily view all the information about the package, functions, parameters as well as examples by simply pressing f1 (in Rstudio). This is a very helpful feature which will not be available to users/evaluators of RXapian if those files were removed. So wouldn't it be better to include documentation files in git repo until RXapian is contributed to CRAN? There's no way to customise the R build/install process to create them as required? I still think we really want to get rid of them, since at the moment the extension is still of very limited use, and once it hits a basic level of usability we'll want to submit a release to CRAN pretty much straight away. Hi James,> >> There's no way to customise the R > >> build/install process to create them as required? As far as I know install_github doesn't support that. Even the source folders of R packages distributed via CRAN include documentation files.>> I still think we really want to get rid of them >Will remove those from git repo.
