Greetings, gentlemen. I'm trying to make videos play in PowerPoint 2007. I've installed Windows Media Player via winetricks. When I add video into PowerPoint, only sound plays. I tried to install K-Lite Codec pack. In WMP some videos were playing OK, however PowerPoint crashed during video insertion into presentation. When I removed K-Lite, PowerPoint crashes no more but again I can hear only sound both in WMP and in PowerPoint. Has someone successful experience of playing videos in PowerPoint 2007? If yes, what have you installed and what overrides have you made? Best regards, Aleksey.

I installed WMP9 and the K-Lite Codec pack. The only override I have is riched20 set to native. IIRC, winetricks sets an override for something (I forget what) when it installs WMP9; I removed it. All my videos are avi files encoded with xvid.
I tried to remove override of "*jscript.dll" made by winetricks. The results is the same - if K-Lite is installed, PowerPoint 2007 crashes during video insertion into presentation :( It seems that winetircks installed WMP10. Maybe the WMP version is the problem? And what version of wine do you have?
