theora - Jan 2008 - Can not compile latest SVN

Hi,

I performed a make distclean and a new configure then make, the compile 
abort on:

gcc -I/usr/local/include   -Wall -Wno-parentheses -O3 -fforce-addr 
-fomit-frame-pointer -finline-functions -funroll-loops    -o dump_video 
dump_video.o  ../lib/libtheora.la -L/usr/local/lib -logg  
../lib/libtheora.la: file not recognized: File format not recognized

Any idea how to solve it ?

Shouldn't there be a libtool in front of that?
