Syslinux - Apr 2018 - loading bzImage from storage device

Hello,

I am trying to figure out where to change mmc rate to maximum speed.
All images are loaded from emmc.

I see in syslinux.c that it calls loadfile(), but I don't see how the
filesystem fread() is actually done from emmc, and where to change its
speed to maximum.

Aside from using reasonably large blocks, there's nothing that
SYSLINUX can do.  It's all dependent on the underlying firmware (BIOS
or EFI).  What mode does the copyright banner indicate?
