Have a primary site with Kickstart Service and "Primary Host" that
provides resources to multiple workstations.
Once workstation are configured, they work fine across the distance with the
Primary Host.
I use kickstart to load machines and have no problem locally loading, but have
problems when attempting to
kickstart across the wire to a remote site.
I currently physically bring the workstations to the Primary Site, kickstart
them, then return them to work site
for final tweaking. Because of the particular network card and network topology
combined, I have a 25 - 30 second
delay in boot process to compensate for the NIC/network to fully come up before
proceeding with boot process.
(NFS mounting, NTP, etc . . .)
The problem is when I attempt to kickstart, using PXE, across the wire. The PXE
times out before it receives
the IP address. Is there an option in the ../pxelinux.cfg/default file that I
can add to allow longer timeout? Or is
it more a configuration of the DHCP service? I've played around with the
timeout option in the default file with no
luck.
Thanks in advance.
