Thanks Peter! I didn't know that. Do you mind one more OT question? (last
one) I don't have any kind of acpi daemons or programs running, and I
grepped /proc for "acpi", "apm" or "power" and
didn't find anything...so could acpi still be a problem? Is there anyway I
could configure it? (I can't reach the boxes at the moment to turn acpi/apm
off in the BIOS)
at bootup, it makes one mention of ACPI (during the BIOS-provided physical RAM
map:...)
Thanks again :)

EPIA boards). Sometimes, the computer just *stalls* ... it doesn't respond
to the keyboard, you can't telnet in, etc. I can't even reset or turn of
the computer via the ATX buttons. I don't think I have any funny ACPI or
power management thing going on (how can I check for sure?) Any ideas on what
would cause the system to ignore the power button?

What happens if you hold the button in for several seconds (5-10?) On a
lot of newer boxes the power button causes an ACPI event unless it's
held for a long time.
