DRY Javascript Degredation
Hi, It seems there must be a better way to do this than what I am currently doing. I have a simple app that collects a users thoughts along with their email address and their first an last name. On a page that lists all the users thoughts they can click on a link to "add a thought" which then displays a form with ajax. My current methodology for this is not very dry. If js is

Multiple Layouts - Single Controller
How do I do multiple layouts for a single controller: I am aware I can do... render(:layout =>''mylayout'') for individual actions, however this becomes a multiple render problem. I tried this... layout "mylayout", :except => [:myaction, :myotheraction] layout "myotherlayout", :only => [:myaction, :myotheraction] However that doesn''t

Ideas for AJAX pagination
Hi, I am looking for ideas on how to remove the last item from a paginated page when a new item is inserted, thus leaving only 10 elements on the page. Currently I have a form that inserts with AJAX, but as expected, each post added to the page just increases the number of posts leaving 11 on a page that should only be displaying 10. I have unique ID''s for each post (e.g.

[Slightly OT] CSS with wildcard?
Sorry if this is a simple question, I''m a CSS noob. I have a rails app that is displaying posts, I am having it generate each post with its own div like "post_19", "post_20", etc. I could make it so it puts another div around that div (i need the individual post div''s for deletion with AJAX) but would rather not. Is there some way to use CSS to do

OT: UPS battery vendor
Hi, folks. I need some new replacement batteries for rack-mount APC UPSes. My old vender... well, the salesman I dealt with for several years left about a year and a half ago, and last year's purchase was a disaster (wrong batteries, wrong batteries, months to get the shipping to return the wrong batteries...), so I'm looking for a new, reliable vendor who does US government contract

addition of vendor dwarf operator extension.
Hello, Thanks for prompt reply. Motivation, In case of debugging of bi-endian dwarf and value known at runtime some of the raw values needs to be byte swapped to change the endianity. We have a llvm based compiler which generates such dwarf, TAG_variable marked as big endian and debugging on little endian host using lldb. The listed operator on dwarf issues does that, one operator instead of

Hello all, There is one enhancement request open for dwarfv5, http://dwarfstd.org/ShowIssue.php?issue=191107.1 The request is for addition of dwarf expression operator to swap the top of the dwarf stack, the response seems positive but it may take some time till v6. I like to add that operator as vendor extension but I am not sure how to go about it for llvm/lldb. Currently I am using it as

I am using fastercsv to process input files. I want to install it into my app/vendor directory as a gem (I guess). I used ''rake rails:freeze:gems'' to get rails into the vender dir. But I cannot find any doc on how to do it for fastercsv or any third-party gem. Any help appreciated. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

superclass mismatch for class OrderedOptions
I have Rails 1.1.2 installed and froze my app to 1.0 by checking it out into the vender directory. Maybe it''s coincidence, but now when trying to do rake migrate I get this: > rake migrate --trace (in /home/beet/workspace/) rake aborted! superclass mismatch for class OrderedOptions /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-1.3.1/lib/active_support/ordered_options.rb:27

Test de Quade
Hola a todos, Acudo a vosotros después de darle muchas vueltas al tema en Internet y no localizar la solución para algo que creo trivial. Necesito aplicar el test de Quade a un conjunto de datos en el que existe más de una covariable. El ejemplo de dicho test en R es el siguiente: ## Conover (1999, p. 375f): ## Numbers of five brands of a new hand lotion sold in seven stores ## during one week. y

Quantile function for the generalized beta distribution of the 2nd kind
I have succeded in defining the cdf of the generalized beta of the second kind, eg. pgbeta2 <- function(quint,b,a,p1,p2) { integrate(function(x) {exp(log(a)+(a*p1-1)*log(x)-(a*p1)*log(b)-log(beta(p1,p2))-(p1+p2)*log(1+(x/b)^a))},0,quint)$value } but I'm facing problems with the quantile function. I tried something like qgbeta2 <- function(proba,b,a,p1,p2) { optimize(function(z)
