Forum vs Mailing lists - by the numbers
So, if we look at January, the last month without the forum: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2008-January/thread.html we had 226 posts. If we look at March, the first full month with the forum: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2008-March/thread.html we had 2136 posts. Even if you say that 1,000 of those posts were meta posts with complaints from us Mailman lovers,

I want to add a bug in bugzilla, and I must register before. When I try, my ask seems to be accepted, and I have the message: To confirm the creation of the user account xxxx.yyyyy at zzzzz.fr (my mail address), use the URL given in the email you will receive. If you take no action in the next 3 days, this request will automatically be canceled. The problem, is that I never receive this mail. I

Bug 13517: Forums breaking mailing list
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13517 Is Wine going to have to lose even more experienced users over a stupid bug? Does WineHQ really value new users over those who have the knowledge and are willing to help? Let's move towards resolution on this and consolidate on Google Groups already, before it's too late. -- Paul Johnson baloo at ursine.ca -------------- next part

Samba Forum vs. Mailing List?`!
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if there is an official Samba Forum, because I could not find any on the Project Page. If there isn't any, is there a particular reason for this not-existance? Best regards Tom H. Lautenbacher

[OT] What forums/mailing lists for advice on how to play video file?
Hi, Sorry for being off topic, but I am stuck. What forums or mailing lists are suitable for advice on how to play a particular video file? The file (actually a set of eight files) has the extension ".wmv", but Windows Media Player gave the error that the file format did not match the extension. VLC also will not play the file. If anybody wants to look inside, I have placed the file

Clarification of ratings...
I was browsing apps and looking for games that run in Wine as Gold or better. The issue is that I see many apps listed as gold that require recompiling Wine with patches to get them to work. From my understanding, any application that requires code changes should be listed as garbage and tied to a patch/bug to be able to operate. That and any application that ranks higher should run under a

Mailing list <-> forum gateway
Hi all, First off - this is not flame bait or a troll. It's a genuine question. Since the forum gateway was introduced, it is my opinion that this list is getting flooded with newbie questions. Check the "I just installed Ubuntu" thread for a typical example. I wish to silently remove all wine-forum posts and their replies from my inbox. I plan to filter based on From:

When i execute the main file, I get an error that say that it's not possible to find some configurations file... after many efforts, I think that the problem is in the fact that to instal the game, i take a pre-installed (portable) version of this, and so i just copy and past the whole folder into the program

New game "Das schwarze Auge: Drakensang"
Hello Wine Users, I am thinking about buying the game "Das schwarze Auge: Drakensang" (German homepage (http://www.dsa-game.de/), English homepage (http://www.drakensang.info/)). But I will only do it if I am able to play it under Linux. Does someone have the game already and tried to get it running with Wine? Regards, Benjamin

Wine on OpenBSD

Mailing List Future
The mailing list will not receive emails from the forums. What I was referring to is that Discourse does provide the ability to receive emails for posts or threads you're interested in, and you are able to respond over email to them as well. Mail list empty on my mailserver
Hello, After changing NAS, I meet a problem when I go on my e-mail box with my webmail. Either e-mails do not appear anymore, or they appear but are "empty". When I look in the directory of the e-mails of my mailserver, these e-mails are present. I tried to rename files "dovecot.index*" and to restart dovecot but nothing can be done. To make the seesaw of a NAS towards an
