loading zaptel drivers automatically upon reboot
Just installed Asterisk 1.2 on a brand new clean machine running RedHat 9.0. I have a TDM400 card inside. When I boot, the card seems dead. When I do: modprobe wctdm modprobe Zaptel the lights come on and all seems fine, until I reboot that is... After a reboot I have to repeat the modprobe. I shouldn't have to do a modprobe every re-boot should I? How do you get the drivers to load

windows port
Looks like I'm going to have to port parts of or all of rsync to win2k. Has this been done before? Any pointers? _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

Snom 360 lights not working on subscription
Dear friends, I am working around with a Snom 360 and Asterisk 1.4 + FreePBX In order to get subscriptions working and the Snom 360 lights turns on, I have set everything just like all the pages in the net explain. So, I get subsciption working. I can list subscription on the asterisk and if I use the SIP trace function built in at the SNOM nad see NOTIFY messages and 200 OK responses.

Opinions on Cisco 7960G, Polycom IP-600, and Snom 360
Hello, We are planning to replace our current PBX with an Asterisk / SIP solution, and are now trying to decide which phones to get. My first thought was the Cisco 7960G, but the Cisco licensing scheme irritates me enough that I'll probably end up going with either the Polycom IP-600 or Snom 360. If anyone has any opinions of these phones, especially in comparison to each other, I would

rsync/jscript/cygwin problem
I'm using a javascript program to execute rsync 2.5.6 compiled with cygwin on Windows XP Pro machines. These backup the user's "My Documents" folder to a Linux server running rsync 2.5.6 in daemon mode when the user logs in to XP and certain conditions are met (e.g. user hasn't backed up for a few days, user on the network etc). This works great except every now and then

Cisco 79XX and VLANS
Hey gang, We have about 30 Cisco 79XX phones all running latest 7.5 SIP. We are also using all Cisco Switches and Routers. Everything works great except that when you reboot a phone it takes like 3-5 minutes for it to come up. The phones spend tons of time 'Configuring VLAN..' We don't run any VLANs. Is there some way to skip this? In the 'Network Settings' I have

Plantronics and Snom RF feedback
Hey all, after hooking up some Plantronics to some Snom's (3 320's 1 360), I noticed my client is having some form of feed back on the phone. Because of Snom's "inner oddities" this is how I got it to work. Plantronic --> RJ11 --> SnomHandset Port (on Snom Base) Handset --> Plantronic jack (bottom base in the front) If I placed Plantronic(RJ11) --> Snom's

Samba and vland
Hi all, I'm running samba 2.2 as a domain master on redhat7.3 os. Just recently we started subneting the network. I have entries for the domain in the dns servers. But for some reason I can't autenticate to the domain. I have noticed when I try to authenticate that the requests are not reaching the server. Every time i try to logon I check the samba log files but i see no activities.

Snom vs Polycom
Anyone got any subjective (!) views on the merits of these two ranges , using asterisk 1.4 ? I need to supply approx 30 handsets to a new client, with the senior managers (6) having some slightly more "managerial" phones than the base phones which will be used for one line only. Snom phones?
Hi, everyone: I'm in the processing of deciding what IP phones we should use with our Asterisk server, and I wanted to get feedback from the user community on the quality, reliability and ease of operation of Snom phones. What do you have to say about these phones? Are there other phones you'd suggest along with or instead of Snom? Thanks, -Stephen-

Receptionist SNOM-360
Hi to all, I got an Asterisk with 2 BRI(7 pstn numbers and 4 concurrent calls) and 15 SIP extensions. The receptionist has a SNOM-360. How many SIP accounts would you configure on that phone? Only one would be enough? One SIP account, has a limit on concurrent calls? I saw that the SNOM-360 can handle up to eleven SIP accounts. Thanks -- .:FaberK:.

Snom 360 not dial with direct buttons
I have a strange problem with a Snom 360. I have a pair of them and one is acting just fine. The other one has 2 problems, one of which I think is a configuration issues, but I cannot track it down. The main problem with that phone is that the display is wonky. When I last saw it, with the display all the way down and after a power cycle, it was fine. But just before that, the display looked

Snom 360 - Message waiting and conference keys
Hi, Trying to set up these two buttons on a snom 360. The message waiting key seems to send a call to it's own number, which is obviously engaged and where you are prompted to leave another message to yourself, and the conference key seems to do nothing. Anyone manged to overcome these problems so that the conference key actually conferences, and the message waiting "retrieve"

Snom 360 hold problem
Hello, I have a customer who said that their Snom 360 is joining calls by accident. The situation is that they had one call on the line and another call came in. She pressed the hold button on the phone and the two calls were joined together. I do have "Call join on Xfer" set to yes, but I thought that would only come into play when doing a transfer, not putting someone on hold. The
