Sipura, Asterisk, *0, and Call Waiting
I have searched through all the lists and found that some people have had luck with flash hook, then *0 to answer a call waiting call. I have an Asterisk server with one FXO card, the dialtone for the fxo card is providing by another pbx called a Definity. When I am on the Sipura, and another call comes in, I hear the call-waiting indicator, when I flash hook I just hear tone, if I dial *0 I

samba and bin/text modes
Hello samba, I would like an advice on following: is there any way how to tell samba what transfer mode to use? I think I read that samba does only binary and to use text you have to use something else. We have windows machines using text files on linux samba server and i need to transfer those files in text mode. Can anyone help me please? -- Best regards, Martin

Re: Sid Meier´s Alpha Centauri
Where SMAC(X) stands for Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (Alien Crossfire) I've been running a copy of SMACX installed in Windows on my C:/ partition from linux (Ubuntu 10.10). After mounting the windows partition I only had to make the following changes to Alpha Centauri.ini to play the game: Code: eax=0 ds3d=0 ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1 I haven't tested it much at all, but it seems

Alpha Centauri crashes constantly
I'm using wine 1.2-rc5 on Xubuntu 10.04. I've been trying to get Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire working for a few days now and running into nothing but annoyance so far. Latest problem; AC keeps crashing. All the time. If I save at a certain point and, say make a specific series of moves next turn and it crashes, re-loading and repeating will cause it to crash again. Below is the

WINE game compatability and "DOSe"?
After using a dual-boot system for a while (Win98 + Mandrake) on my home machine, I've decided to go for Linux only on my new (well, used) notebook (Latitude PII 266 w/ 128 MB RAM). In any case, I don't really use any Windows programs except a few games (well, I use office tools and programming environments, but there are plenty of good ones in Linux as is), so I'm looking into using

Samba swamps the server's CPU
Hi. I'm running Samba 2.2.2 and Linux 2.4.7 on a dual PPro-200/256KB server. The relevant NIC is an Intel EtherExpress PRO/100+. The problem I'm having is that certain programs will swamp the server; the load will spike immediately to 50% (i.e., 100% on one CPU) and performance will, naturally, bite. Having another active connection to the server at the same time causes _monster_

Samba Ldap tls/ssl problem
Hi! I know this should be asked to the Openldap mailing list but: I?m trying to set up a Samba/ldap environment were the Samba server is separated from the ldap server. Everything seams to work on the ldap server and when I do a ldapsearch like this: ldapsearch -H ldap://l1.dbb.su.se/ -b dc=dbb,dc=su,dc=se ?x Everything works on both. But when I do: ldapsearch -H ldaps://l1.dbb.su.se/ -b

What are the differences between systemd and non-systemd Linux distros?

cisco ata-186 behind NAT
i have been trying to get a newly liberated (from vonage) cisco ata-186 (sip ios v3.1) working properly with asterisk. my client is behind a linksys wrt-54g, which up to this point hasn't proven to be a problem (i have several sipura spa-2000's and polycom phones working just fine behind them). (i'm running cvs-head from yesterday). after looking at the various suggestions,

CIFS problem with folder mounted drives
Having an issue with the CIFS VFS module. One of our fileserver has a directory structure with hard drives mounted into that directory structure, so --> C:\volumes\case\1 is a hard drive C:\volumes\case\2 is a hard drive If I share out and mount up the volumes folder, I can see the case folder, and if I navigate into that folder it shows '1' and '2' as links to nothing

Can't create files using Mac OSX Client against Sambaserver on Debian Linux
Well, after some more poking around, I discovered that this problem was not neccessarily a simple matter of getting Samba properly configured. For the benefit of the list, I've posted the following URL which takes you to a Debian bug report which starts out with a post describing the exact problem I'm seeing. As it turns out, it may have more to do with a problem with file locking

Futzing with TaskScheduler
Hi all, Thought I should say something - it''s been a little while. :) Anyway, I''m still futzing with how I want the Ruby API to look. The more I look at the Perl version, the more I think it was too faithful to the C API. Right now I''m looking at the trigger() method. For example, I don''t see any reason to make the "type" key take a hash as an

Quick thought on win32-mmap
I suggest getting rid of the hash style arguments fior new() for this package. In this particular case, you already have a class and accessors, so you can just use the yield trick, e.g. rb_yield(self) if rb_block_given_p(). Thus you can do: mm = Mmap.new do |m| m.namespace = file m.swapfile = sfile m.size = 1024 end Looks just as nice, and is a lot less code on the C side of
